Welcome!

To Norfolk Coast Path

Situated in the centre of Burnham Deepdale in the heart of the North Norfolk coast, Deepdale Cafe would like to welcome you for breakfast, lunch, a quick snack or just a drink and a cake. We're one of the businesses at the popular 'Dalegate' site (with a range of shops, including a Leftleys Costcutter small supermarket and a FatFace clothing store) and have become a well-known and popular eating-and-meeting place since we opened in 2006.

We hope to make you welcome, comfortable and anything from breakfast or a light snack to lunch, coffee or tea or sandwiches for your day out. Our menu goes from practical to posh and we aim to satisfy you whether you need a passing snack, a quick cuppa or a family lunch or want somewhere civilised and interesting for a business meeting or just to pass the afternoon away. We're happy to prepare packed lunches and meals for individuals or groups, days out and trips and with spacious, relaxed indoor and outdoor tables, we'd be delighted to play host to your party, reception and event.

Roast chicken breast with bacon and mayonnaise bap with salad Owned by Linda Murray, a familiar face at local farmer's markets and formerly of Wells Deli and The Jolly Sailors in Brancaster, all Deepdale Cafe fare is prepared fresh on-site with care using locally sourced ingredients where practical. The cafe is open every day, 7 days a week, from 7.30am to 4pm.

Meet the chef
Chef Jeremy Tagg This is our chef Jeremy Tagg, a local lad who has lived and worked along the coast all his life. He's largely self-taught although he did mention some training with celebrity chef Rick Stein down in Padstow, Cornwall and some time served in well-known local venues The Hoste at Burnham Market and the White Horse at Brancaster. Jeremy wouldn't mind some more fancy fish on the menu and does like to produce the full works... but he's equally happy to turn out a first class breakfast or a superb sandwich if that's what you'd like.

Do I need to book?
We like it if you can just turn up, sit down, choose and get fed and we try to keep it that way... but we do get busy, particularly on weekend lunchtimes, holidays and high days so sometimes you might be asked to occupy the comfy sofa for a short while before we can find you a table. So if you do know in advance when you'd like to come and it's likely to be a busy time, please give us a call or send us a message and ask us to reserve a table for you... it's easier for us to manage and may save you a wait.

Tied up on the marshes at Deepdale We're right on the A149 coast road between Hunstanton and Wells, convenient for local campsites, handy for Brancaster harbour and a short step from the North Norfolk coast path. Walkers welcomed, cyclists catered for, sailors provisioned, birdwatchers' butties packed and ladies lunched... whatever you're up to along the coast, why not drop in and see us?

What our customers think!
Who says "Deepdale Cafe has one of the best full English breakfasts you can buy"? This nice man from Cambridge does on his on-line photo album! We're glad you enjoyed it...

Outside tables and bike rack at the cafe

Park your bike... and enjoy a well deserved break on our outside tables. Deepdale Cafe is a short downhill run from National Cycle Route No 1 and a good destination if you're out riding locally.
